The Bruce Chi Affair - THE PIONEERS OF PUMO

Maybe This Time
All That's Natural
what do I think about mp3's? i don't get all the comotion about a highly compressed morsel of organized sound. Personally, I think they were a blessing to the music industry... well they would've been if the world wasn't full of complete idiots. Not to sound like some arrogant goody goody, but I was probably the perfect example of how mp3's could help the music industry. I would download a whole variety of songs by a bunch of different artists that were recommended to me by my friends in real life and on the internet. If I heard a band I liked, I didn't download every song off their CD and burn my own copy, I went to the fucking record store and bought the damn thing. Now what's so fucking hard about that? I've got a job that allows me to have spending cash. Why not spend it on something I want? My only further purpose for mp3's was to make compilations of songs I already had. (it's a lot easier than switching CD's half an hour, considering the max play time for CD's is 74 minutes).

But yes... we all know what went horribly wrong. In a sudden burst of retarded popularity, ever college kid HAD to utilize the killer bandwidth and devote a hard drive to mp3's. I blame the musically declined for this. Take my friend Scott - please. But seriously, folks. Him and music do not mix. He can't play any instruments, and he doesn't care to know how any of it works. All that matters to him is whether or not there's a chorus for him to memorize and sing along to... he had a hard drive devoted to mp3's. Everything ranging from STP, to R. Kelly, to the Backstreet Boys.

But I admit... it is a tempting alternative to buying music. It's free and it's easy. If you were a record company, wouldn't you bitch?
