the scruple notebook: page 1

description: on the top right corner, there's a date for the "lunch phrase of the day" of 8-29-97. That is, I imagine, the first day that the main part of the scruple notebook was drawn in. It was also one of the first couple days of my sophomore year. The theme of this intro page is obviously a fake excitement about the beginning of a new school year, and was also meant to show my variety of humor styles (at that time) and lastly to show about how far I would go as far as contreversial content (note the "crazed perverted cult-starting minister" says, "Hey little girl, I'll show you what god wants".) And on the lower right corner is a self-portrait, copied directly off of my school ID.

my favorite parts:

- I love the guy above the exclamation point saying, "Someone told me there was a big yeah here so I HAD to show up."
- below "...innocence is lost", a guy says, "My fault. It was my job to keep track of the innocence."
